Volunteering at St Brendan's

We love having families and community members involved in school life. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone on campus, we ask all visitors and volunteers to follow these simple guidelines.

Signing in

All visitors must:

  • Sign in at the School Office upon arrival
  • Wear a visitor badge while on campus
  • Sign out before leaving

Parent Volunteers

Parents can help in many ways, including at school events. Your child's teacher will let you know when help is needed and what tasks are available.

Parent volunteers:

  • Must complete the online Volunteer Registration each year and provide evidence of this to the School Office
  • Must follow teacher instructions and maintain confidentiality
  • Are required to sign in and out daily at the School Office

Non-Parent Volunteers

We welcome extended family members—such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and others—who wish to volunteer at St Brendan's. To ensure the safety of our students, all non-parent volunteers must complete a criminal history check before they begin.

This check is conducted by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian. Once approved, volunteers receive a plastic card known as a Blue Card, which is valid for two years from the date of issue.

Non-parent volunteers:

  • Must hold a valid Blue Card (criminal history check)
  • Must complete the online Volunteer Registration annually
  • Are required to sign in and out daily at the School Office
