Catholic Identity

“Love one another as I have loved you"

John 13: 13

At St Brendan's Catholic Primary School, our mission is to educate children in the spirit of Jesus Christ, inspired by the Josephite Charism. We aim to nurture students who are successful, creative, confident and active, empowered to shape and enrich the world through the values of:

  • Faith
  • Community
  • Inclusion
  • Excellence

What Our Catholic Identity Means

Our Catholic identity is woven into every aspect of school life—faith, learning and community. It helps students:

  • Grow in their knowledge and understanding of God
  • Develop a personal relationship with their God
  • Develop spiritual and moral capabilities
  • Build self-worth and a sense of responsibility
  • Appreciate Catholic traditions and respect other faiths
  • Engage in practical projects that promote justice and compassion
  • Communicate confidently on religious matters

Religious and Faith Life

As a faith-filled learning community, we strive to create a culture where everyone feels welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged.

We express our faith through:

  • Daily classroom prayer and interactions
  • Staff prayer
  • Whole-school Masses and Year Level Liturgies
  • Celebrations of significant events, including Lent, Easter, Advent, and Christmas
  • Religious Feast Days

Parents and carers are always welcome to join us in these celebrations.

Mary of the Cross Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for the life of St Mary of the Cross.

She showed us that in the struggles and hard times of her life, you were there, loving and helping her.

Please be with me when times are hard, or I am afraid.

Please help me to love you just as she loved you.

Amen
